While in a village this past week, we were going house to house and talking to people before our weekly children’s program. We sat down under a house and started talking with the people there about the health clinic that we had the previous week. One of them said they were so thankful to have had some teeth removed that had been bothering them by the dentists at the health clinic. Then they told us that the grandma that lived there was having a difficult time walking. She came out of the toilet building and could barely make it to the area where we were sitting. She said she had gotten some medicine from the clinic but she still was not better. We said we would bring her some additional medicine when we return the next week. We asked her if we could pray for her, we told her we were Christians. She said,”Yes, please pray for me. I saw on facebook that Jesus can heal people!” So we prayed with her for healing. When we returned this week to give her pain medicine and check her blood pressure, she told us that she was waiting for us to come today. She wanted to tell us that Jesus healed her leg pain. She said she can walk now with very little pain. She said, “I told my children that work in Thailand and all of my family here and my neighbors that Jesus healed me!” We shared a tract with her, her son and daughter-in-law and told them that we will be back next week to check on her and share more about Jesus.
And now for the rest of the story!
We went the next week to visit the lady that Jesus healed. We had been praying that she has been thinking about what we shared with her and visited her today to discuss about the tract we shared with her last week. She said they (her daughter and son in law and herself) had trouble reading it so they had a neighbor (teenager) read it to them. We talked about the tract “Creation to Christ.” It was amazing to see that God had already been working in their hearts! We talked and prayed with them and they said they believe The mother, daughter and son in law said they wanted to pray and receive Christ. We were as excited as they were. We prayed with them and rejoiced with new believers. We were able to give them a small radio/usb player with Bible lessons and songs for them to listen and be encouraged. Pray for them for they are the first believers in this village.
God is good!
